The E-mail reply I received fro ND vo clearly says that "If you applied as a Federal Skilled Worker on or after 27 February 2008 and before 26 June 2010, processing of your application is likely to begin in 2012"
Here it is:

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi .

An Acknowledgement of Receipt letter was sent to you after your application was received by our office. Your application is currently in a queue awaiting initial review.

Unless we have specifically asked you to do so, you are not required to submit any documentation at this time. Our office will contact you to provide the required supporting documentation for the assessment of your application.

If you applied as a Federal Skilled Worker on or after 27 February 2008 and before 26 June 2010, processing of your application is likely to begin in 2012; however, finalization may not occur until after 2012.

Is this reply to a CSQ you sent to NDVO?

so, it means that all the folks in-spite of having real in-process status with processing date may not be receiving MR soon as perceived earlier...... of-course we have to wait and watch what happens next
For sure they will work on our files in 2012, but in a lazy mode.....
finalization may not occur until after 2012------> means Visas may("not will") not be issued in 2012....
what may be the reason...?
Further, i guess in-process with processing date ...is just another lollipop, because usually it doesn't take more than a month(for a normal case) to issue MR after full inprocess status...
waiting for comments...

Regards,
Grewal

Yes Grewal, we must not rely on E-CAS status.. it is quite fishy.

Thanks Nicky Bhaji for posting this update...... it is pleasing but full of uncertainity to an extent (words like "likely", "may not", "Until after 2012" ). If you split their statement into two, 1st part is ok but 2nd part is depressing since its just the beginning of 2012 & we will have to wait for atleast another long year.
