Dear prof.

I'd like to know how long it take so we can land Canada as immigrates and is it different between land to Canada and get the PR
you can land to Canada and then get your PR and after that you need to stay the 790 days to get the passport or what!!

thanks

Your question is a bit difficult to understand. Once you have landed in Canada and become a PR, you must live in Canada for 2 years (730 days) out of every 5 rolling years to keep your PR status. You are not allowed to apply for a Canadian passport as a PR.

Once you have lived in Canada for 3 years (1095 days) out of the last 4 years, you will qualify to apply for citizenship. Once you become a citizen, you will qualify to apply for a Canadian passport. Citizenship application processing times are around 2 years right now.

OK how long should it take to get the PR?
and is the IELTS should be tested from the beginning or I can postponed it to the final step?

It depends how you apply for PR. Processing times are posted here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

You must include IELTS test results with your original application. If you do not, your application will be refused.

sorry if my questions are silly
but what is the different between the

Skilled Workers Quebec / Federal

what is the different between get the PR which is 63 days and (Processing times: Permanent Residence)

appreciate your support and help

You will have to read about the Quebec and Federal program in detail to see what the differences are. Each program has its own rules and criteria for applying. If you do not feel comfortable doing this research yourself, then I would recommend that you hire an immigration lawyer or consultant to help you.

The 63 day processing time does not apply to you. This is the time it takes to get a PR card after you have landed in Canada as a permanent resident. Your processing time will be anywhere from 8 months to several years.

OK great
your answers were very helpfull
final Q so after I land I will request for the PR card or what?

First you have to find an immigration class that you qualify under. You can find a list of different programs here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

If you qualify, you apply for PR. The processing time can be anywhere from months to a couple of years. When you get a PR visa issued, you have to go to Canada to activate your PR status. This is called "landing". After you land, you will get your PR card sent to you in the mail. It takes around 63 days right now.

If you don't qualify to apply for PR under any immigration class, you could try to come to Canada on a student visa or try to find an employer who will help you get a work permit. If you play your cards right, you could end up qualifying to apply for PR through your stay.
