Hello

I wanted your help to find out what are the employment rates for Wireless networking certificate program?

How many graduating students (%) are actually able to find jobs?

What is the average expected salary (annually)?

I am trying to calculate that how much time I will take to repay my loan of $28,000 for this program (of course assuming I am able to find a job after graduation).

Thanks in advance.

Jobs depends on your skills.
It will tough to find job just after your graduation with just 1 year certificate program.
Employer will look for Work experience not your education qualifications.

This course will lead you to jobs like wireless LAN support, wireless service providers, and cellular and broadband providers.
And you can expect a pay between 35k-50k.

I'm not discouraging you.
Good Luck.

Thanks a lot Aman. This is very helpful.

My brother just got admission for the Sep 2013 intake in this program.

His profile is BCA, PGDCA from India. Work-ex: 1.5 years as Network Support Consultant at IBM India and ~1 year at Operations Manager at TechShedar LLC (technical support company).

I am trying to evaluate if its worth taking a loan of $28,000 for this course and leave his current job in India.

I was expecting he could get a job in 50K-60K range but I may be wrong.

Please advise. Your input will be highly valuable.

Firstly, You need to worry about the Visa.
As he already have BCA and PG Diploma. And going for certificate program ?
His next step should be Masters.

Hardly any employer will look at his past experience.
They want Canadian Experience.

As you was expecting 50-60k per year. Then it's coming to around $26 per hour.
And employer will pay $22 per hour maximum. [After working 1-2 years] [depends on his skills and efficiency]
And definitely the initial Pay rate will be around $14-$16 per hour.
So you can decide whether he will be able to pay off the loan or not.
And the jobs are not easily available. He need struggle there too.

Good Luck.

Thanks Aman.

Ok, I will advise him to look at the Masters degree courses.

Is the job situation any better after getting Masters degree or still there is a lot of struggle?

Also, is the fees for Masters program double the fees of certificate program?

-Bhavya

Masters is better than Certificate program.
Yes, the fees is more as Maters is a 2 year program.
There are some University with less fees for Masters Program.

Good Luck.
