four years limit extension?

hello friends

is there gonna be an extension for the four years limit for foreign workers here in Canada? Some are saying that it will be extended until 2018? Is it true? My friend recently applied for WP in SK and he's also on his 4th year already but granted a 2 years WP. And one more thing, is there any program for us Food Service Supervisors in AB to become PR because our employer is not supportive of any PNP application.

Unlikely, why would the Gov't introduce it in 2011 for a 4 year maximum for a TWP and then change to 8.

If you are a food counter attendant, the only way to immigrate would be PNP. If your employer will not apply, you will have to find another employer who will or alternatively you will have to try to find and get a work permit for a skilled position.

The 4 year rule was introduced in 2011. It only applies to TWPs issued from that date. the first TWP holders will reach thir 4 year limit in 2015.

It's not likely to be increased, more likely the 4 year period may be reduced to encorage more people to appy for PR earlier.
