Finding a job in Canada with sponsor

Hi all,

I have applied to migrate to Canada via Express entry. Apparently, the CRS score of 413 is not enough to get an invitation to apply for a PR. My education has been validated by WES as equivalent to 3 year Canadian degree. I have scored an overall 8 (8,8,8,7 - Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) in IELTS.

I think the job bank is a hoax. Employers invite me and that's where everything stops. I have tried applying to jobs on LinkedIn (another novelty). I have not found any website or channel that is functional at the moment.

Can someone suggest how I can tweak my approach in finding a job?

Thank you
Ravi

Keep trying.
Thanks for the response. But "Keep Trying" is a continuum I will consider until I find the opportunity. In the mean time, I am aware of the fact that I am limited by time. The application / profile on the Canadian government website expires after 1 year. I have to redo the application all over again. Also, the IELTS expires after 2 years and then I have to retake the exam just to prove I can communicate in English which is frustrating. I am running a company in India and I deal with North Americans and Europeans everyday. English, or communication is not difficult, but having to prove it again by allocating an expiry to communication is a stupid idea.

This has become a gamble and I don't like the idea. If this whole endeavor is a gamble, then Canada is one big casino trying to rip people off.

I am trying to find someone who can help me refer to a job opportunity, or someone running a startup, find possibilities and the probability with me as a potential colleague or a peer.

If you are running a company in India does immigration to Canada actually make sense?

Well the opposite of keep trying is to give up.

CRS points cut off changes all the time. So keep applying. Unfortunately that's how most skilled migrants get their PR.

Getting a job will help massively with your CRS points of course. However there are thousands and thousands of landed immigrants with their PRs trying to get a job too and are finding it very hard.

So you are not alone. The fact that you don't have your PR already probably works against you.

If you have extensive dealings with North America, you should use your networking to see if something comes up that way. The best way to get a job is to be referred by someone within a company. Many companies have incentives for staff where if the company hires someone they recommended they get a bonus.

So my advice is to talk to your business contacts and customers. Ask. Sometimes we forget to ask and people have no idea that is what we were needing. And who knows maybe some of your clients are hiring!

I think you failed to realize what's going on here. I have already stated, I run a business in India. If you are a business owner in my position you would be curious to know why I am trying to get a job in the first place.

I appreciate your response. But you could have stopped at "Keep trying" :)

Yes. It does.I can explain if this conversation leads to a job opportunity.
I am curious. Why would a successful Indian Businessman want to apply for a job in Canada and get PR in Canada? Sham?

But I didn't bother to ask since you made it clear you weren't going to explain unless I was offering you a job. Of course I have failed to understand what is going on here. What IS going on here? It's a mess. And you won't explain. LOL!

I just hope that your plans don't include any fraud or illegal action. It is always interesting reading very confident people asking for advice when they seem to already have all the answers themselves.

Good luck.

How can you be sure? I am looking at possibilities.
Because I have been on this forum for a very long time. There are no employers here. Anyone on here offering a job tends to be reported and kicked off fairly quickly, as it is generally a scam. Someone who is going to the effort to hire a foreign worker is not using an immigration forum to find qualified candidates.

Please read my request. "I am trying to find someone who can help me refer to a job opportunity, or someone running a startup, find possibilities and the probability with me as a potential colleague or a peer."

No sham, scam, fraud, or any illegal action intended.

The discussion thread headlines with "Finding work in Canada". Hence the thread. What does one expect to post here?

So then why would a successful businessman from India need to find a job opportunity, or someone running a startup to become their peer?

I think it will be hard for anyone to understand your situation because clearly it is not "straight forward" right? You're not like any of the other thousands of people just looking for a job to help raise their CRS score right? You're different and your case is special.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..

But under the headline, it also says:

Share your Canadian job stories and discuss how to find meaningful work in Canada.

Contrary to what others had said, couldn't a job (like a project) be taken by a company instead of an individual?
