Hi all, my wife and I are applying for PR for myself (American) and currently living in Canada. At the moment the plan is to apply out of country as the processing times are a slight quicker, but in the mean time we'd rather not live apart so are also planning on applying for an Extended Stay Visa for myself. The simple question is: will the immigration process for my out of country application be disrupted by filing for an extended stay visa?

Simple version: Will applying for an extended stay visa disrupt an out of country application for permanent residency.

No - it won't. Go ahead and apply.
