Hello guys,

I extended my multiple entries visa (SX-1 visitor/student) to the end of August (last expire date was February), But in the immigration's paper that arrived says "This does not authorize re-entry".
I would like to know if I can go to USA and come back to Canada.
Some friends say that I can because US and Canada have a kind of agreement, but other friends say that I need a new visa.
Thanks for the help.

Best wishes,

If it says it doesn't authorize re-entry without any exemptions, then you'd better stay in Canada.

Yes you can, but you have to return to Canada before your visitor permit expires, i.e. end of August.

You will find that statement on all temporary residence documents e.g. work or study permits.

It means that each time you want to enter Canada, you must satisfy the border officer that you still meet the conditions under which the document was issued. e.g. if you have student status you should actually be enrolled in school.

In addition, those who require a TRV to visit Canada, should have the necessary visa. You also have to return before it expires.
