Dear all,
My express entry profile is ineligible, I don't understand what is the issue. Could you please help me? I have the following:
-PhD outside Canada, validated by WES
-TEF (French language skills), high scores
-University professor position in Canada (A category) with positive LMIA, started 9 months ago (work permit)
-3 years of experience in 0 category outside Canada within the last 10 years
-I'm applying with my common law partner, who didn't take any language test and didn't have his BA validated. He has 5 years of experience outside Canada in 0 category.

I don't think that the issue comes from my partner. Perhaps my profile is not eligible because I don't have 1+ year of experience in the A category in Canada. Do you agree?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Which NOC did you use as your primary occupation?

You need to have a minimum of 12 months full time work experience in your primary occupation so if you had chosen your experience from Canada that might be the issue as it doesnt add up to a full year.

You could have also possibly entered the wrong amount for funds and dont meet the minimum there.

It's likely selecting the wrong NOC as primary occupation, as Andre suggested.

With a positive LMIA, insufficient funds are not a problem.

Good point. That is my bad. Hadn't thought of that. Thanks, Dan.

You can also have a look at all your entries. Maybe you entered the wrong year in your work experience section by mistake. Its easy to miss a typo somewhere.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your replies.
My primary occupation is NOC 4011 (University prof). I have 9 months of experience in 4011, and 3 years of experience in NOC 0124 (marketing management). Funds shouldn't be an issue.
So that's the problem : I need 3 more months of experience in my primary occupation?
Best

Or you can input Primary NOC as 0124 and you'll probably be readily eligible for EE.

Good idea, but a but isn't it risky because my LMAO, work permit, and current job is 4011?
Thank you so much!

Not really because Primary NOC is simply one of the criteria that determines FSW eligibility. Are you getting 600 additional points based on that LMIA?

I don't know, they didn't give me the breakdown of the points. They just told me I didn't meet minimum requirements.
Anyway, I'll try listing my old job as primary occupation and keep you posted ;)
