I plan on sponsoring my wife. Upon reading all the forms I have a question.

I returned to Canada mid 2009. During that time I have been setting up a business. The business is now up and running as of this January 2010.

So, if I submit a tax return for 2009, it does not look very good. I have a large savings account, but cannot provide 12 months history of income.

Will this pose a BIG problem for sponsoring my wife. I would hate to apply and get turned down.

Any help or suggestions are very welcome.

i cannot give you the verbatim quote regarding income requirements to sponsor your spouse (it is in several of these threads) however, basically it states that you do not have to prove financial capability to sponsor your spouse.....if you cannot provide the option C form from revenue canada then send along a letter with your application explaining why along with any copies you have of pay stubs, T4's etc etc etc.....usually that is enough.
