Electronic Forms?

The forms seem to be newer then when I last saw them. Can the electronic (PDF) forms be saved with your information in them to be printed at a later date? I seemed to have success saving one but I'd hate to lose a few hours work.

Notice
New form for permanent resident applications

As of July 18, 2011, applicants for Permanent Residence are asked to complete the new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). This new form creates one universal application for all permanent residence categories.

The form features prompts and drop-down lists that will make completing the forms much easier for applicants and will help prevent errors that create unnecessary processing delays. Completing the form electronically and validating the form before printing will generate a unique bar code to allow for the efficient entry of data into CIC’s case management system.

Older versions of the permanent resident application form will still be accepted, but only until March 31, 2012.

no the new forms are still the same the Generic form is the only 1 that u can save info in the other forms you have to type and print as they dont allow u to save info...i too wish they all allowed info to be saved and come back

Hi All,

I am new to the site. I've been lurking around checking out all the great info available on this site for some months now. I just found the new forms today. I have completed the old forms for family class sponsorship. I haven't submitted them yet (hoping to do the last week in August). Now would you recommend I fill out the new forms? or Submitt the old ones I have? Do you think the new forms can speed up the process a little? This whole process is starting to get a little stressful at this point . Any feedback will be appreciated.

u can submit old form as they are still valid until march the new forms have not been in place for even a mth so no1 can comment and say they speed things up which i would doubt

Just an update, I have had no problem saving any of my work on the downloaded forms.

well, one of our fellow forum mates who submitted their application last April was requested to send the new forms because they used the old forms. i don't wanna say this but they might do this to u as well.

Hi, we are in a similar situation. I have no idea on how are they (CIC) going to inform us about the out-dated forms.

The date of the form is written on the bottom, you can check that date against the current one and see how old your forms were. I think there's a chance they might send them back to you. We re-did on the new form before sending because there was some kind of cut off date for the old form.

Hi, so meaning just wait for CIC's notification? I submitted my application last June later part I did know that it was out-dated.

at the lower left part of my application form says IMM E (08-2009) maybe thats the date....really old .. wasn't able to use and aply by that time coz of so many problems about my childrens docs .... but lets stillhope for the best buddies...may God grant our wishes...

Some of the PDF forms are editable offline. you need to check with cic website

They will tell you if the forms are not good.
