I am trying to apply from US for canada PR under FSW category. When I calculate my points myself, its enough to apply for Computer Programmer category. I just gave IELTS general test and got results in my hand. I AM APPLYING FOR COMPUTER PROGRAMMER AND BOTH MY BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S DEGREE ARE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. But I do have 1.5 years of continuous full time paid work experience as a computer programmer. So can anybody PLEASE help me if I am eligible to apply for PR under fsw computer programmer category ?
Thanks in Advance.
:)

Yes, you can apply under computer programmer category. In work experience you have to mention the NOC for computer programmer.

I have the same Query,i have done Btech in Electronics, and have 3 years of experience as a software engineer, and plan to apply for PR under computer programmer category.Someone told me,you need to Btech in IT/Computer science to apply,is it true?
Am i not eligible to apply?

for computer Programmer:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or in another discipline with a significant programming component
or
Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.

Specialization in programming for engineering and scientific applications requires specific post-secondary study or experience.

One more question:
I have master's degree. So for credential assessment, should I send just master's transcripts or Do I need to send documents from bachelor's and Certificate level education too ?
Please somebody suggest me.

thanks

According to my knowledge, u can't apply for FSWP, as ur working in IT field and educational backgrounds are different. My consultant told me that Ur education and work exp must be in same field. So please find out with Any good Consultants.

If ur applying for Computer Programmer, then u must have ur bachelors in Computers only. same with masters as well..........

For credential assessment, only masters certificate and transcript is required if you want claim points for masters.
