E.mail or ordinary mail

While submitting my application to CIO I did include my e.mail address.
Now while notifying about approval/rejection, what CIO shall do

1. E.mail me about decision ONLY
2. Mail me about their decision ONLY
3. Will send their decision through both means e.mail and ordinary mail?

If you had given your email id, the reply will mostly be through email communication only. They will notify you in either case, selected or rejected.
