I am from the Philippines and never been to Canada. My wife is already a PR in Canada. Can I apply for a divorce even if I am abroad?

is there any other option? Can I apply for a TRV and stay there so I can accumulate a year in Canada?

Applying for TRV with a married spouse in Canada is difficult to get since you would have more ties to Canada than to your home country. In other words, more likely to be denied TRV. But that doesn't mean you can't apply for one. If by chance that you did get one, the most you can stay in Canada is 6 months. You would need to extend your visa for another 6 months. I don't think Canada immigration will extend your visa stay just so you can get a divorce. 1 year is the minimum separation to qualify for a divorce. You will still need even more time in Canada to process the divorce papers and that in itself can be a long process.
