I have submitted my application forms for permanent residence under skilled workers.my spouse is accompanying me to canada.i marked my children as non accompanying because i dont have enough proof of funds for all us 5.im spending my time now orienting myself to the things i need to do upon landing in canada on the process to sponsor my kids.my question is, how long do i need to be staying as permanent resident in canada to be eligible to sponsor them?is there a particular lenght of time that i need to be there?how much time should i be employed to sponsor them and how much income do i need to have to sponsor them?
Thank you very much.any response will be greatly appreciated.

You can sponsor them right away. You don't need to show income to sponsor your kids.

follow up question:
i tried checking family sponsorship checklist...for checklist # 17, 18 and 19 havin questions concerning income tax forms, employment stubs and letter from employer and the sponsor guide question, "WHO is eligible to sponsor" statement # 7 which states "The sponsor should have an income that is least required to the necessary income" should not be a concern for me because i am sponsoring my kids?
thanks in advance

The guide at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3900E.pdf tells you at the top of page 9:

You will have to provide us with documents that show your financial resources for the past
12 months and prove you are financially able to sponsor members of the family class. You
may solicit the help of a co-signer (must be your spouse or common-law partner). If you
reside in Quebec, see also Sponsors living in Quebec.
This condition does not apply if you are sponsoring only
· your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has no dependent children, or
· your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner whose dependent children have no
children of their own, or
· your dependent child who has no children of his or her own.

hi, any answer will be appreciated much...i have three kids which were indicated as non accompanying, 11,6 and 1year old. upon landing in canada, can i sponsor them all at the same time or one at a time?if i sponsor them all at the same time would that mean that i just need to reproduce some pages of the Application to Sponsor and Undertaking?and because I am planning to sponsor them as soon as i get to canada, and I may not need to provide and show proof of income, do i just have to indicate N/A in question #3 OF THE SPONSORSHIP EVALUATION form that asks, "your net personal income?"
thanks in dvance....

If your net personal income is unknown because at that time, you don't have a job yet, then that is what you write.

Hi Cha...

You can sponsor all your children at the same time once you become a landed immigrant so long as you have an annual income that can support 5 people (2 + 3 children)... not sure if the new immigration law requires proof of income to sponsor your dependent children or .... may be somebody will clarify. There is an income verification table, it does not have any limit of number of children and/or dependents you can sponsor, so long as you have income. For my case I had to provide 12 months pay stubs, but I am hoping somebody could clarify, you might not need proof of income to sponsor your children once you are in Canada.... again not sure about that ... but I know that you do not require to provide proof of income to sponsor a spouse, the requirement is that you should be working and not be on social assistance. I hope that partially answers your question. Good luck

You can sponsor all your 3 kids at the same time and you don't need proof of income to sponsor your kids.

There is no income requirement to sponsor your dependent children and spouse, however you must show prove that you will be able to support them when they migrate to canada. This means that you need to have a job and making some kind of income to show that you can support your familliy. You can sponsor all three children same time, there is no limitation and no minimum incomre requirement, but you need to be making some income. cic usually asked for your income for the last 12 months preceeding your application. But if you want to sponsor them before the next tax year, then you have to get a job, send cic your pay stubs and explain why you don't pay your T4. This is what i did when i was sponsoring my husband and i had no problem. But i later on sent my T4 when my application was still in process after i got it

Don't make this common mistake:
You need proof of fund for the whole family wether they are accompanying or not when you apply as skilled worker. I think it is better to add the kids in the application because you will have to show proof of fund for 5 anyway. and yes you don't need proof of fund if you are sponsoring spouse and dependant children after you land in canada.

jus to clarify...
im the primary applicant, my husban is accompanying me to canada. i included my 3 kids as non accompanying because of lack of funds. would that mean that even if my 3 kids are non accompanying, i still need to show funds good for 5 of us?that would be 22,ooo+++?
thanks...

yes you need money for 5 persons, 22000....have someone else confirm it. wet made this mistake ; only husband applied. me and son were non accompanying dependant. we realized later but soon enough that we need 17000 for family of 3 as oppose to 10000 for 1 person.
