So I just saw that a dicision was made on my application and it says the office will contact me I n regards to the decision.

Does anyone have an experience with how long it will be before we hear from them now? Also do the call me (primary applicant) or my husband (sponsor)?

Thanks! :D

If the application to immigrate (ie, 2nd stage) is the one you're talking about, then they will contact the applicant, not the sponsor.

Which visa office is handling your file?

Yes I'm talking about that one, for myself, the primary applicant/immigrant.

My application was being processed at the Ottawa office.

Then they will contact you. If you haven't had an interview or a request for additional documents or proof, then going to DM usually means approved. Congrats!

Nope. No interview no request. Just decision made. and in 8 days none the less.

Thanks so much!

Any idea how soon I will be contacted?

Thanks again!

I mean 8 days from time they started processing it.

They won't contact you.. Expect your COPR in the mail very soon.. Michelle (michminn) from the 2014 Sept Outland thread just got DM a few days ago and the next day her COPR was in her mailbox.. I got DM on June 2 and June 10 COPR was in the mailbox.. You just never know where, what, why, and when, with CIC as per usual. So keep an eye out for it, and then check it over really good when it arrives to make sure all the names, numbers, address's, passport # jive etc..

This is good news! Rejoice! Happy dance time! And make some cupcakes! ;D

Congrats! 8)

YAY HAPPY DANCE TIME!

I have a concern though. I applied in my maiden name but I have since changed it to my married name. Will they affect anything?

Thanks

That could be a problem, you need to make sure all your travel documents match. If your passport shows Smith and your COPR shows Johnson, expect a problem.

You should contact them ASAP and let them know your name change.. I think your COPR name will have to match your passport name.. Good luck and congrats again! 8)

I sent an email asking if I need to submit new documents but they never replied. that was over a month ago. I still have all my old documents, but they are punched. AHHH now I'm worried!

We also asked before applying if I should apply in my maiden name or married name and they said apply in maiden name if the name change is not legally complete yet. IE passport, ID, SSN, etc.

This makes sense, you can't apply in a name that's not yours. Now that it is your name, however, you need to update them and make sure they issue (or re-issue!) your COPR in the new name.

any ideas the quickest way to contact them? I can't call the call centre because you can only call within Canada and the Ottawa office doesn't have a phone number that I can find. Should I just wait for my CORP, will that have any contact info?

Yes, they will tell you to examine it carefully and give instructions if anything needs changing.
