Hello, I have been reading on the forum but could not find the answer for my case so I'd better just post my concerns here for your advice.
My husband and I have been married for 2 years. Yes, exactly 2 years as tomorrow will be the day we signed the marriage certificate 2 years ago :)

We have been holding on not to file for my immigration because of the complication in my husband's sponsorship eligibility. Now that we want to apply for my immigration anyway, please let me know if I should be worried about anything?

1. My husband had a conviction of staking in the US and it has been 5 years.
2. My husband is unemployed and has been receiving ODSP (support program for disables)

So...do you think we will have any problem applying for the sponsorship? I believe we have no problems on proving our relationship and this is only our concern.

If your husband is getting social assistance because of a disability, that is no problem. As for the crime in the US, I'm less sure. There are people with more knowledge who can help. I think if it's been over 5 years it is ok, but I'm not completely sure.

After 5 years he can apply for rehabilitation. He may well get it, but it takes a while. I'd suggest a lawyer to help with the rehabilitation application. Once he's rehabilitated, he should be able to sponsor you. Welfare because of a disability is OK.
