concern over medicals

Hi All,

Please see if you can assist in answering...

we have applied to our local chc office - just submitted full docs in jan 2010.

we expect that if all goes well - we can recieve a call for medicals around 5 months time....

unfortunately we have a problem although we are busy working on it.

I am extremely overweight with a BMI of over 35! Although I dont have any associated problems like sugar/BP/Arthritis etc., i am very worried that even though everything will be clear - they will reject our application based on just being overweight.

any thoughts on this? please share your exprience if possible?

I may be wrong but I don't think being overweight is sufficient grounds for rejection. However I will advise you to booked yourself into a fitness program immediately for your own well being and peradventure it might assist your medicals whenever that may be.

thanks barsindhoo - i hope that is the case. i have enrolled into a gym and changed eating habbits to ensure there is no "bad" eating...but considering my level of being overweight, i will not be anywhere close to normal weight by the time they call us for medicals....

The DMP will ask you about past surgery, if any.Notes will be taken down on the same.It may not pose a major problem in your application unless there are future possibilities of serious complications arising from such an ailment neccessitating the said surgery.

they will ask for a copy of your O.R techniques...& histo path if there is any...
