Question 1:
Our COPR expires in Sep 2020 and we are planning to land in Canada by end of Jun, quarantine for 2 weeks and come back in mid July. My H1 visa stamp expires in Nov 2020. Also my H1 stamping is from my previous employer and right now I have a new I797 from my new employer which is valid until Nov 2022.

I have less than 6 months left on my current visa but my friends say that I should be good to enter as long as I have a valid visa and if officers ask I can show them new i797. Did anyone recently traveled from Canada to US in the same situation. Please share your thoughts.

Question 2:
I have read few threads where people are discussing that Toronto is the best place to land for smooth processing. For me, Montreal is closest but I can always travel to Toronto if that is the case. Please suggest which airport should be good

Best to avoid Montreal unless your PR application was processed through Quebec or you Plan to transit Montreal other wise your PR landing could possibly be rejected. Head for Toronto to avoid any potential issues trying to land in Quebec.

Yes, I had my visa tied to my old employer. 2 weeks ago I asked CBP to update my records at land crossing. So they put a stamp next to my visa extending it to match the expiry date of my new I797.
