Hello All,

I am in the US on H1B and my COPR expires in August 2020 and planning to do a soft landing along with my family in July 2020. We are going to be quarantined for 14 days and come back to the USA. Since, we don't have stamping on our passport and consulate are not yet opened, we are planning to use Automatic Visa Re-validation (AVR) option to enter the USA border.

Anyone tried this option recently? How was the experience?

Same situation here. We plan to do a soft-landing in later July/early August, and would like to know if anyone has been traveled back to US through AVR. Can you please share your experience once you return? Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

I am on F-1 in US. I have a valid I20 and want to do a soft landing in Canada before my COPR expires on 1st Oct. I recently read that soft landing is not considered as an essential travel for validating COPR. I should only come to Canada if I am there for permanent settlement. Does anyone know what exactly permanent settlement means? Also since I am planning to enter US on AVR, has anyone done AVR on F-1 I20 recently? If yes would like to know their experiences, how did it go with the Immigration officer for US? were there any issues or what kind of questions were asked? Would really appreciate the feedback.

Regards,
Akshay
