Close to Open work permit

I moved canada 5 months back, There may happen layoff in my company.Currently I am on close WP. Is there any way to convert close to open WP in such a situation..

You do not qualify for an open work permit.

If you want to switch employers, you need to secure a new job offer and your new employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA so that you can switch to a new closed work permit.
