As an applicant that has never lived in Quebec before, I am not sure about the 2nd part that asks you to authorize CIC forwarding personal info to the Chief Electoral Officer of Quebec. I did a quick search in the forum but remain confused still. Some suggest check "Yes" but without giving reasons; others suggest "No" because they argue this section applies to only Quebec residence.

I am wondering if anyone here knows the definite answer to this question?

I don't live in Quebec, so I answered 'No'. If you don't live in Quebec it does not make sense for your name to be sent to their electoral list, since you won't be voting in Quebec anyway. Hope this helps!

I understand what you are saying, but it is a permanent list, so I am guessing it may apply to everyone since you never know whether you will end up living in Quebec in the future?

I called CIC this morning regarding this and I was told if the first part of the Question was NO (dont live in Quebec), I should also pick NO for the second part (authorization). Hope that helps..

Thanks wanabecanadian! I will check "NO" as per CIC instruction.
