Does anyone know how it works with change of name ?recently i have received pr and have activated it ,now i am getting married in uk and afterwards i will return to canada.How long do i have to change my name in my passport/pr ? is it compulsory?

Name change is a choice, not mandatory. You can do it immediately, wait a few years, or never .
If you do, typically to change your name in Canada ( SIN card, health card, drivers license etc), you just need to present marriage certificate.
