hi there,

I am planning to submit my application for the CEC under NOC code 2261 Non Destructive Testing once I have gathered all the necessary documentation.

I worked in British Columbia from Sept 2013- June 2014 as a quality control representative/ weld inspector/ field project cost management for 80 hour weeks.

I am taking my language course this weekend and hoping to obtain level 6 or higher, as required by skill level A. (I will retake as many times until I do get this grade)

Im currently taking online courses for weld inspection to prove I am still interested in furthering myself in this field and have supporting documentation.

I earnt around $140,000 during this time and have T4 papers to prove my ample contributions to the canadian government. I also have copies of tickets and certificates of field achievements during my canadian work experience. I can also provide proof of funds in my savings to be able to support myself for an extended period of time without working.

I am bilingual with a degree in French

I do not have a criminal background nor do any of my family members, apart from my Step-dad who has theft and driving offences dating MANY years back. This is one thing I am concerned for. Will this greatly affect my application? Should I include him in the application? As far as I have seen so far there is only ever mention of your MOTHER/FATHER....would really appreciate another perspective on this and the chances I will be able to receive permanent residence.

Like everyone else, I am hoping that my application is returned as successful as soon as possible. If there is anything anyone could suggest to improve my application I am open ears.

Thanks so much to anyone who responds with any tips on what i could provide in my application which would help me or any general feedback would be so greatly appreciated

Few suggestions:

1. You will not be eligible to apply for CEC before October 1st 2014, assuming you started on September 1 2013.
2. NOC 2261 is a NOC B occupation and is eligible for CEC
3. There is a sub cap of 200 applications only for this year. Currently, only 3 applications have been submitted.
4. Other factors such as bilingualism, proof of funds, certificates of achievements are good to have, they do not result in a quicker or positive assessment of your application.
5. Your step dad is not your dependent and you cannot include him in your application for PR anyhow.

PLEASE CORRECT ME : If one starts working on SEPT 1ST 2013 then they can definitely apply after Sept 1st 2014 and before oct 1st 2014

That is correct.
