I just want to ask, are Catholic/Separate schools in Canada really free? I read somewhere in one of the school board's website that there is a form that needs to be filled up so that your property taxes will be allocated to the school where the child is enrolled. how about for those who do not pay property taxes because they are still renting and does not own a house, etc., is it still free?

I'm not sure about Catholic/Separate schools being free or not, but if it's a "public school" then it should be free. It's free even if you live in an apartment -- your landlord pays the property taxes and you pay the landlord rent.

thanks! if that's how it is for public schools then i bet it's the same for catholic schools since according to them both are government-funded and the only difference is that they teach religion in catholic schools.
