Can I add an elderly parent to my application?

I recently submitted an online immigration evaluation and appear to be a strong candidate. I am very keen to progress an application, however I would like information on how to add my mother to my application. She is 80 and financially independent. Please advise. Thank you.

No, you can't add your mother.

Thank you. So, she could visit for extended holidays and that's really it? Do you know how long she could stay in the country for at one time?

She could visit for probably 6 months at a time and she could apply for extensions to stay longer. You could apply to sponsor her but it can take a couple of years for sponsorship of parents to go through.

agree with Leon, I'm in similar situation and will sponsor as soon as I get PR status and hope there's enough time for my mother to enjoy life in Canada
