Asked for RCMP criminal record check canada EE submitted in India

Hi all,
I have submitted My EE application on September 14 from India. Then I got an email in my cic account saying that they need this RCMP criminal check document. I dont know why they asked for this as on cic website it clearly mentioned that PCC required except Canada.
