I had completed a masters from UToronto in Nov 2016, and have obtained a postgraduate work permit valid till Oct 2019. I currently reside in Toronto.
I now plan to start working as a research intern / assistant in Montreal with my post graduate work permit in the next couple of months or so. I will then want to start a study program (second masters degree) from UMontreal next year, which would be between 1-2 years in duration.
Since my post-grad work permit will expire in Oct next year, I need to find a way to work in Canada after completing the second masters degree from Montreal. Therefore, I think I would need to apply for PR from Montreal at the earliest, so that I can work after I complete the program.
Currently however I think do not have the minimum points on the QSWP grid, since my degree was from outside Quebec. Would I be apply for permanent residency from Montreal prior to completing the second masters degree from Montreal, so I can work after that ?
