Anyone here from the Philippines who applied a student visa?

I am planning to apply a student visa in Canada, I just want to know how were you able to successfully be given a student visa? What documents did you submit that you think convince the visa officer to give you a student visa? How long did the immigration centre process your application? Did you submit TOEFL/IELTS score and did you think it also mattered in your application?

Please, any helpful idea/answers would be greatly appreciated
