My wife is a convention refugee and we have got married after she and her family passed the hearings and granted Convention Refugee status. My wife filed her permanent resident application and included me in her application. She was late to submit it so we had to file with the humanitarian ground application forms as directed by immigration. It has been almost three years now and we are still waiting. We have finished two medical check, one was recent, and assuming background checks also done. But they are taking their sweet time. My question was as I am not a refugee claimant or convention refugee, Can I apply for OSAP while we are waiting our file to be finalized. I think my wife can get OSAP easily because she is convention refugee. But what about my status. Cant I be considered in the same category since our applications are attached. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
