My wife is from Russia she brought back her 8 photos but she had them in 2 pack of 4 photos... I am telling her they should be already cut, like 8 separate photos of the right size... but she says it's usually like this you can see the border around all the pictures showing the right size

I wonder is it ok like this... will CIC accept them or the photograph should cut them separately?

She needs to ensure that the photos meet the specifications stipulated in the country specific guide. For Russian applicants it can be found in appendix B. It sounds like she has got photos from a booth rather than a photographer. The dimensions are very specific and as far as I am aware they should come as 8 seperate photos.

My wife's (Russian) photos were individually cut. They were cut close to the dimensions asked for but they weren't all cut evenly, CIC never said anything about this. As long as you can have them close to the required dimensions I would cut them if I was in your shoes.

Never understood what they needed 8 photos for. Besides putting your picture on a PR card, what the heck do they need the other 7 for? ::)

Its a racket! :P Photographers and CIC are in it together :o But, yeah, I don't see the point either. One photo gets scanned into the system for PR card and everything else. What do they need the 7 for? Its also the same with medical exams. One drop of blood gets used, why does the nurse take out many big vials of our precious blood? :P

Lol. I am assuming it's for filing purposes. So they have a photo identification in your papers. But hey, correct me if i'm wrong but if i can vaguely remember, when they sent us back our kit with the copr even the photos were sent back. (This was when we applied for PR through my parent's sponsorship) or maybe not? I can't remember exactly. :)))

In Brazil they give back 6 photos.
Pointless...

Hahaha. Omg! You had me laughing like crazy. I don't know about the photos but as for the blood, it might be because they'd donate it afterwards! Lol. I'm kidding. Aaaaah! All this anxiety of waiting for our application makes us a bunch of crazy monkeys.:))

When my wife received her PPR she had to go get 2 updated photos for CEM then when she picked up her visa package all the photos that were taken with the proper specs for the application were returned back to her. I also fail to see the reasoning of taking all those photographs and ask for 2 new ones for issuance and then return the original ones that were taken for the application to begin with. If they are not going to use them its just a waste of money to have the original ones done that are asked for the process.

CIC a true entity that works in mysterious and VERY strange wonderous ways" :P
