yup, and it's always "covid" :-) even though it's a genuine reason, the covid excuse is way overused these days.

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

Travel restrictions will most likely be extended given the rising covid cases. And there is no point in trying to "make sense" of how they issue ppr, it's unpredictable and purely random at most.

I don't believe so since you send your passport with the TRV application details initially. For sponsorship PPR you'll have to send it again separately including the relevant application details/requested documents. Others can correct if what I said is not true.

Unless you have plans to travel soon, don't sweat over pr cards. COPR should be good enough for any purpose inside Canada.

Unable to meet the 730 days residence requirement due to Covid-19

You are making pointless claims all over the place. You say changing residency rules would massively benefit immigrants who drive the economy. Well, the immigrants who drive the economy already reside here and they don’t have to worry about residency obligations. The way they benefit the economy...

    1. Most likely will be sent to Ottawa VO. 2. After medical, it's most likely DM unless there is request for additional documents. Minor children does not have to go through background or criminality checks. 3. No one knows, widely varying timelines. But if it helps my kid's application was...

Even the assumption that they are doing this to limit travel to Canada doesn't add up because in that case other visa offices should be doing the same as well. I think traditionally Ottawa office (and maybe some others) didn't handle these type of applications. Due to covid, some temporary...

I think people are trying to find a logical explanation that will keep them hopeful. I can believe if the Dec 31st was to meet an annual processing goal, but honestly I don't think there will be a PPR shower on March 31st. But if it does happen, I'll be more than happy to be in that pool.

Timelines are widely varying. Mine was forwarded to Ottawa office on Dec 23, aor2 on Feb 23 and nothing afterwards. It is indeed frustrating but nothing much we can do. I live in Ottawa and knowing the casual attitude of people here, not much of a surprise either.
