    police certificate for citizeinship

Correct, the explanation is that you already provided a police certificate of your home country, with your PR application, and you have not visited again since you became a permanent resident of Canada. This is my understanding.

    police certificate for citizeinship

You have to say "yes" and explain why you are not providing the certificate. Check the online citizenship guide, question 10b, example #1: Example 1 You lived in France for one year (365 days) before you became a permanent resident 3 years ago. You did not travel to France after you became a...

    NBI Clearance Thumbprint and SIgnature

Hi there, I got my PR more than 2 years ago but somehow still receive the alert of this thread. My wife is from Philippines and she needed an NBI certificate. The Philippines embassy in the country we resided at that time refused to proceed to thumbprinting. It's kind of a grey area and noone...

    Landing with a pet - First housing/AirbnB

Not sure about the barking thing. If I'm correct your dog can bark from 7am to 7pm or something like that, before/after that your neighbors can complain. That's what I was told, I am not sure how true this is - you might want to research it - and perhaps it depends on the building or the...

    Landing with a pet - First housing/AirbnB

Hi there. Short term accommodation (AiBnB) etc...are expensive with dogs, but that's until you find an apartment - you might want to have a budget for that though. Toronto is very pet friendly, I was surprised to see people bringing their dogs to shops etc.. pretty cool. My wife and I both work...

Moved to Ottawa or Calgary? Share your story!

Tanks for your input. Tough choice yes, plus from what I saw on the internet, child daycare is similar in both cities.

Moved to Ottawa or Calgary? Share your story!

Hello everyone, My wife and I landed in Toronto as new PRs earlier this year. The (very) high housing prices here have led us to consider relocating to another more affordable city. We’re also looking at cutting the daily commute time down. We are in our early thirties and to choose our next...

Japan Police Certificate: open the envelope or not?

We did not open the envelopes. We scanned them and uploaded the scans in the placeholders corresponding to our Japan PCCs. We added a note saying that we are instructed by Japan Police Department NOT to open the envelopes. If IRCC wants us to do so on their behalf, we need them to give us...

Medical - referral to specialist doctor?

Hi everyone, I would like to ask advice to people here who had to see specialist Doctors. I visited a General Practitioner for a skin problem and he referred me to a Dermatologist. According to the Doctor, I was supposed to have an appointment within 2 weeks. The Dermatologist called me to...

    Japan PCC

If I am correct IRCC mentions online that for some countries, you have to upload "I require a letter from IRCC to obtain this Police certificate" instead of the PCC itself when you complete your online PR application. You can try going to the Japan embassy with the ITA letter and see if they...

    NBI Clearance Thumbprint and SIgnature

Hi there, We applied the thumbprint ourselves. It has to be on the NBI certificate, yet the Philippines Embassy did not want to take our fingerprints. It looks like a grey area. We bought an ink pad, tried a few times on a blank paper sheet - then did it on the real NBI cert. Good luck.

    House insurance (cheapest?)

I certainly agree, though I still believe it should be up to the tenant to decide whether they want to have their personal effects insured or not. Thanks all - I didn't know what to check but I'll focus on the "personal effects" part of the quote.

    House insurance (cheapest?)

OK so I am required to get an insurance for my personal belongings only. Landlord is already covered for events like a fire, floods etc.. but does this over the landlord only, or let's say there is fire, my belongings were burnt, do I get reimbursed or the landlord only gets reimbursed for the...

    House insurance (cheapest?)

Thank you. Yes I checked and apparently we are only required to have an insurance for our personal belongings. I appreciate the landlord's attention, honestly I was not aware of it, but how is that compulsory? Tenants should be the ones to decide whether they want their personal belongings to...

    House insurance (cheapest?)

Hi everyone, The property management where I'm moving-in asked me to pay for the house insurance. I am surprised as other people I know do not pay it (landlord does). Anyway, I am a bit lost between all insurance offers. Would someone know which company offers the cheapest rate? Thanks Mat

Is proof of address required for G1 test?

Hi there Can I ask you - how did you gain driving experience (driving school?...) and how did you get a car to attend the G road test exam (did you rent, borrowed it from a friend etc..?)

    Short Term Rental Options !

We had the same issue from when we landed until we fond a job/which allowed us to secure an appartement. We have done short term renting for 3 months and unfortunately you have not much options. Also, if like us you have a pet, most short term accommodations will be overpriced on Airbnb. We...
