Can I Immigrate to Canada as Self-Employed?

Oh, was that in another thread?? It just sounded like they were asking so many questions about how and which streams to apply to.....I figured they probably needed expert guidance.

Can I Immigrate to Canada as Self-Employed?

Sounds like you need some guidance. We hired an immigration consultant for one hour to get as much info as possible about applying for PR under the self-employed stream. We wrote down all of our questions and marked the most important and basically went down the list. Definitely worth the money!

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Yes...exactly!! I’d love to know how many applicants there are. Total, and how many business stream applicants....and how many self-employed applicants. I have looked and can’t find these numbers for any previous years. If only 2000 people apply for the business stream then I’ll be more...

    Self-Employed Application 2020

I don’t know what the target was for 2020 but the target now looks like it will stay at 1000 and not increase over the next 3 years, unlike most of the other streams. The number is for the year they give you PR, not the year you applied.

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Unfortunately the target number for the business stream is only 1,000/yr. That number is extremely low for the 400,000 immigrants/year overall number.

Can I apply more than one way?

Thanks. So I guess there’s no point in even trying to apply that way (points are too low). I guess self-employed is the only way for us unfortunately. The acceptance rate for those is really low (only about 1000, for all business immigration).

    Anyone applied a 2nd way?

I’ve applied via self-employed but am wondering if anyone has applied for self-employed and also through Express Entry? Is that allowed? Also, our CRS points are below 400 and skilled worker program is only around 66 (minimum is 67). Maybe there’s no point in creating an EE profile...? Do...

Can I apply more than one way?

My husband and I applied to immigrate via the self-employed route. I think the only other way we might be able to apply would be the Federal Skilled worker program via EE. Though we may not have enough points (66; minimum is 67) and less than 400 for CRS. Are we allowed to apply a 2nd way if...

    Number applying

Thanks. I’m actually looking for the number of applicants, not the number admitted.

    Number applying

Does anyone know approximately how many people apply each year under “business immigration”? Looks like the target number they are accepting is super low in comparison to the other streams.

Yes. Works exactly the same way in the U.S. As I said, it does not affect us since we do not collect unemployment.

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Does the AOR arrive by mail or email? It usually takes a few months to get (after application arrives in Sydney), right?

If only I could get a local photographer. I could not. So that's not an option. At least right now. If I have to redo them, I'll try again with a photographer.
