I know there are exceptions always (the people in the article are refugees without any passports), but for majority of regular candidates, this delay is not the end of the world by any means. We all have PR, we are not on a clock, and PR renewals are still happening in case your card expires...

Nope, 2019 applicants are waiting to take the written tests. Everyone is waiting just for that now to restart. I dont think any tests will begin until 2021 now with holidays coming and cities across Canada going into stricter lockdown measures.

I think they are very strict about the 1095 days requirement, so after their investigation if they find out you are short of 1095 days, they will reject your application in my opinion. This is so unfortunate. Just applying a week later would have prevented this headache :(. This has got to suck.

Yeah - dont think so. Until CIC figures out a way to hold tests, we will all be waiting with an evergrowing backlog of people waiting to take tests. I am sure CIC wants to clear the backlog as it doesn't help them too. Atleast we all have PRs which can be renewed for $50 if neeed while we wait.

If you meant 2020 then yes. I dont think anyone has had any citizenship tests since Feb-March 2020. So there is chance people who applied back in Sept-Oct 2019 are still waiting to to give their tests. Can't even imagine the test backlog at this point (tens of thousands of people waiting)

Yeah I saw how universities are doing it now. Literally have to turn the webcam on and let someone stare at you the entire duration haha. To be fair, at this point, I am willing to pay the hourly fee to CIC to do that, but dont know if they have the tech or systems in place. So we all have to...

No one has given any tests since COVID hit from what I can see. Only oath ceremonies have been virtually held. Not sure why we cannot do the tests virtually too (added costs I am sure)

I didn't receive an email, but mine went into In Progress yesterday App Sent: Feb 12, 2020 App Received: Feb 17, 2020 AOR: Oct 8, 2020 In Process: Oct 28, 2020

Oh wow, 20 days to IP from AOR is great. I think they want to move all the Feb applications along together. Mine was AOR Oct 8, so hopefully the rest of us hear something soon

Looking at the tracker, it seems everyone is stuck at the In process status now in 2020. No one has taken the test yet. Makes sense. I wonder if they will build some sort of online testing like schools are. Easier and safer for all involved. The oath has become online too anyway

All the Oct AORs should receive in process status in December sometime

People in February are still getting AORs. Dont lose hope. They are just working very weirdly and out of sync. I would hope nothing is lost

It seems it takes 2 months after AOR to move to In process, the Oct AORs should hopefully start hearing in December

Looks like people who got AOR in Aug are getting In Process now. so 2 month timeline. I am just mindboggled that someone who submitted his/her application in June 2020 got his AOR on the same day as me. I mean - thankfully there are no issues of expiring visas etc with Citizenship applications

Finally got AOR. Just to confirm, AOR does not mean they have reviewed eligibility yet right? (i.e they have not yet reviewed our documentation and ensuring the application meets the criteria)

Yeah, they gave me their template response of working on applications received before Jan 15, which clearly is not the case. I am just hoping my application isn't returned, which means we lose months of headway and get to the bck of the queue again
