No one knows how it works. there are people who applied after me, but became citizens early. But I have seen this during my PR times aswell. So wouldn't be surprised if the trend continues of unpredictability.

I guess in ECAS your status only changes to in process if your application is sent to the nearest office. And due to Covid, i think they haven't been sent over to the local office yet. From Canada.Ca :- Application In Process Your file has been sent to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship...

Yes, there is a way. but it will take 30 days. You can request GCMS and there is an option if you want the original form application or Updates. Use the original form and they will send you whatever you filled. I know they do that for paper application, I am not sure how express entry would work.
