    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

Sending Outland files to Ottawa is a new process they seemed to have introduced to attend to the COVID backlog; as such, no average processing time exists, although some have speculated it would take on a role similar to Mississauga in that more ‘straightforward’ files are sent there and thus...

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

I was wondering the same thing, as my partner (the Canadian citizen) is living in the UK with me. Thanks!

    DECEMBER 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Neither you or @1melisheikh received a letter that your app had been sent to a local VO? Did either of you get the line in ECAS that they ‘started processing your file’ on the PA status (aka AOR2)? The reason I ask is we’ve never received notification our file was moved, the last update was...

    February 2020 Spousal sponsorship Outland

You can’t link the app and use GCKEY if you have a representative, although they should be able to link to their own account and provide you updates. ECAS is your only means to check the app yourself.

    ***APRIL 2020 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

In response to the discussion regarding whether a PR can spend an extended period outside Canada whilst sponsoring their spouse; it clearly states a PR must be living in Canada to be eligible to sponsor. You can absolutely chance visiting your home country to be with your spouse for an extended...

Are you still waiting on AOR1?!

    February 2020 Spousal sponsorship Outland

Nope, same here! No notification of transfer, no AOR2. ECAS has said in process on the PA side throughout.

    February 2020 Spousal sponsorship Outland

Hopefully that’s the case although my part (PA) of ECAS has never changed from In Process back to Application received either, last update was medical passed on March 12th. That being said, I’ve heard some people never get AOR2 either so who knows what will happen!

    February 2020 Spousal sponsorship Outland

Does the sponsor approval letter always include info about which VO the application is being sent to? Ours didn’t include such information and we’re still yet to hear anything regarding a transfer. The sponsor approval was complete back at the end of Feb.

    Spousal sponsorship

No one here will be able to tell you exactly why the process is taking so long for you but you can order GCMS notes which might provide some insight: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/how-to-order-gcms-notes.155521/ Further to this, you could reach out to...

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

Co-signed. My impression is it’s not worth the effort to speak to the call centre agents, the response will just depend on how recently they checked their list of canned responses.

    February 2020 Spousal sponsorship Outland

Same situation here. I’m hoping the announcements on 24th Sep and the digitisation of apps might mean files aren’t being physically transferred like there were before except in certain situations. I’ve noticed, according to the tracker, no files have been transferred since 30th Sept.

    ***APRIL 2020 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

It seems like it only applies to inland applicants. If you go to this page: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/biometrics.html and select ‘inside Canada’ it says Service Canada will call but if you select ‘outside Canada’ it doesn’t.

What phone call are you referencing? Do you mean regarding Service Canada officers calling to arrange an appointment?

    ***APRIL 2020 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

You should be able to submit biometrics from wherever, however in Canada biometrics are submitted at Service Canada locations which to my knowledge are currently closed due to COVID. The deadline to submit is automatically extended from 30 days to 90.

Family class sponsorship - Notarized documents?

No letters need to be notarized. They did in the past, but no longer necessary. We happened to have a letter notarized that my partner’s parents wrote for us (she’s the Canadian citizen and sponsor) as they were also offering to assist us in settling when we arrive and to reinforce the fact my...
