Is it necessary to get a gurantor's signature on photographs

You still need guarantor to sign your passport application. See "If you cannot find a guarantor" from [1] if you don't have one. [1] https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/travel-documents-references-guarantors.html

Your son's ECAS will be in IP till oath is taken. Since your app is family app it's likely approved, but ECAS hasn't been updated yet, check again tomorrow or on Tuesday.

You can bring your BC driving license as well - you should have this temporary license on yellow paper...

You don't lose your status automatically if you were reported, you'll have a hearing at IRB first.

See the spreadsheet. There's usually 1.5-3 months between oath and test dates. Anyway, once you changed the office 12 months processing time doesn't apply to you anymore.
