We are from October 2018 - more than 2 years. Our file has been to Sydney, Mississauga, Mexico and now Trinidad. It's so discouraging.

Hey All - I am one of three women with a spouse waiting on an interview in POS. Our spouses are from Cuba and we have all been in the sponsorship process more than 2 years. Our interviews were cancelled in March due to COVID. We have had no news on "Plan B" since then - but yesterday I received...

Has anyone received any word of a possibility of having their interview by Zoom or phone call from POS? We are still awaiting an interview (it was cancelled for March 23 as COVID hit). We have money tied up in flights and with the pre-paid live interpreter, but I am hoping that things will...

    Havana, Cuba

LOTS of people getting passport requests today out of Havana! This is good news for many! Unfortunately not us - we have passed the 2 year mark and are still waiting on an interview in Port of Spain. But I am very happy for all of those that have already been approved or soon will be and don't...

Al menos es algo! Felicidades! Pero estoy en acuerdo - si ya puedes lograr la visa...por que no en la habana?

Has anyone had any news about biometrics or passport pick up in Havana lately? Just curious - and trying to keep this thread alive!

We've been in the process for 2 years now. The interview scheduled for March 23rd was cancelled due to COVID (understandable) but I do hope they come up with a way of doing electronic interviews, soon. As hard as it would be to do from Cuba, it's better than waiting for borders to open.

Apparently the GC KEy immigration portal is a dinosaur of an application and very difficult to use. It takes agents a long time to update each file, and so I don't think they do it very often. The danger is that sometimes we miss information. For example, there was something they asked us to do...

Thank you. I just found out, too, that my husband has come in contact with a positive COVID case (in Cuba - he works in construction - it's been spreading around the camp) and now he has been rounded up and placed in an isolation centre. The trouble with this, is they pack like, 15 men into a...

We just received news from my MPs office that POS reviewed our file and...we STILL need an interview. Have known each other for 10 years, together for 6, married for almost 3. Sent 10 years worth of photos/proof with our app and more last winter. So...we won't be together until well into 2021. I...

You have to make sure in your application cover letter that you say that you are applying with "dual intent" - the intent to visit while the sponsorship is in process. You can find info on this if you google it. I didn't know the first two times we applied. Now that I understand more I may try...

So today we had a ghost update on our file in POS. I saw that it said "update" but the only difference I could see is that they removed the line that said our medicals expire tomorrow. Our file is a paper file so there is some hope that people are working on teh file. Even that is something...

Well at least you are only waiting for that. They keep telling us we still need an interview. For WHAT??? And HOW? Makes me want to tear my hair out. I can't believe with 10 years and thousands of pages of evidence they are going to insist on this. It makes me feel so depressed. I really wish...

I think they just need to wait until they can call you in for your visa counterfoil. That would be the only bring forward task left. So no worries. Just an example: let's say right now no one can go in and get their counterfoil. They open your file again and if the offices are open, the action...
