PR renewal for Spouse who hasn't met residency obligations

In case it wasn’t clear to OP they’d need to be in Canada to apply for the OWP with the Outland application.

    2024 PR Application timeline

This timeline doesn’t make sense. People are still waiting for PR from 2023 so not sure now a March 2024 would get approved. Were you part of the pilot program?

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

They are not considering mass cancellation of either protected people or asylum claimants. The immigration target plans haven’t changed dramatically so the processing times increasing weee fairly evident if you did the math. Wish IRCC had implemented this updated processing time system. The...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Wouldn’t expect PRs who have no criminal record and who have followed their residency requirements to be a target. This is really to target things like criminals or perhaps even to cancel PRs for people who have been outside Canada longterm, never settled in Canada, etc.

Eligibility letter received one year ago

Could be months but also could be over a year.

Ties to country for Supervisa for parents working on L1 in the US

They should use their supervisa and once they have returned to India and established their lives then they can apply for a supervisa. If they apply for a supervisa from the US IRCC may think they are trying to move to Canada from the US and not just visit and return home to India.

Living with Canadian Citizen abroad - Definition of accompanying

You will likely not qualify for PEI healthcare if you don’t plan on settling there for over 6 months. You should have private insurance until you settle in a province permanently.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

The asylum system like many systems are built on trust Canada is also as a signatory to The Hague convention. There was apparently an attempt to do something last year but was prevented at higher levels. Pure delusion, zero common sense and no longterm modeling is how immigration got so screwed...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Although one country has had a major impact there are many countries overrepresented. Who can enter Canada has a major impact on who can apply. Canada also has some very generous refugee programs that just adds to backlog.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

Yes I was suggesting that some people could consider leaving since I know that not everyone who has received protected person status is genuine refugee/protected person and may be able to return to their country without risking their life. A study permit is a temporary permit while you are...

Don’t think that type of change needs to be passed in a bill.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

I was speaking about reviewing all the applications for merit and only canceling some. If cancelled applicants typically get their processing fees returned. The cost and time of reviewing all applications to determine who should be processed is not a god use of resources for IRCC. IRCC has in...

    Home Support Worker Pilot 2026

Would pay attention to the new immigration targets announced next week. Caregiver programs in general are a mess so hopefully this will provide more clarity. Assume your employer has the extra means to pay for a caregiver and the situation clearly requires a caregiver. For example they have an...

    Humanitarian Pathway

If you did apply would suggest looking at the updated processing times and there is a very high chance the program will be reformed. I would exploring other options.

Pretty sure this is a troll account. Hard to keep track at this point they have so many accounts.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

Asylum should always be the last option for people. People think it is an easier route but many may have been better off applying for economic immigration. That said refugees and asylum seekers do receive a lot of benefits compared to economic immigrants. The primary focus of seeking asylum and...

Is there any online listing of Canada's most sought of skill trades to help students select a useful college/university course?

What type of engineer? For example much more opportunities for robotics engineer vs civil engineer for eg. Does she have work experience? Do they have offices in Canada? Becoming a nurse or teacher in her home country and getting some work experience may be a better pathway to Canada and PR as...

Living with Canadian Citizen abroad - Definition of accompanying

Canada now requires quite a lot more proof that you will be settling in Canada when sponsoring a spouse from abroad so not sure we can count on previous examples. Given that they are so close to meeting RO when they do actually settle in Canada not sure the risk of trying to count time abroad...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

For H&C that would still be very labour intensive, setting parameters of what would qualify for processing would be difficult and it would still likely lead to a large number of applications that would need to be processed. Processing times could still end up being decades. We’ll all need to...

Yes this could be a problem. It would also be a problem if you are not honest.
