Experience sharing of landing at YVR

After applying, Health Insurance BC mailed the coverage letter to the address I provided. So it wasn't immediately available.

They didn't ask for new photos. The two photos were sent to IRCC when they requested my passport. After receiving CoPR, I applied on Health Insurance BC with the unsigned CoPR and got MSP coverage letter. So I already get MSP covered before landing.

Got another call from Service BC yesterday, asking if we need any help and if we got our groceries. And they will give a follow-up call in five days.

Experience sharing of landing at YVR

There's another flight arriving Vancouver a little bit earlier than ours, so there's a line-up at the checkpoints. The PR landing process also need to wait in queue. Roughly we spent an hour at the airport (from getting off the plane to get into my car). A tip to move faster is to complete...

Experience sharing of landing at YVR

Received a follow-up call from Government of Canada today, asking if we are staying at home, if there are any visitor, how we get our necessities, and how we travelled home. They are really enforcing the quarantine order, not like their counterpart in US. Kudos to Canada and BC!

My CoPR was approved on Mar 12. But as far as I know, the border restriction for travelers coming from US is not based on the approval date of the CoPR. Only coming from countries other than US need to care about the approval date.

My wife and I are CoPR holders in Vancouver and we need to go to Seattle for urgent issues so finally we decided to book a flight to Seattle, staying there for 2-3 days, and then come back to landing. The overall process is much smoother than we expected. TL;DR: It is possible for inland CoPR...

Round trip to Mexico for landing. Possible?

I am not 100% sure of current situation of Mexico though. I can still wait for a few more time and hopefully I can get email PR confirmation. But as my US status is going to expire and Trump may release some travel ban on L and H visa soon. It might be good for me to have PR status in hand.

Round trip to Mexico for landing. Possible?

Thanks for replying. I checked out some news and looks like Mexico is opening up on per county level, and Mexico City (which is hit hardest) is gradually opening from June. Cancun is already welcoming travellers so maybe this would be a better choice.

Round trip to Mexico for landing. Possible?

I am currently in Vancouver and desperately waiting for landing. I have CoPR approved on Mar 12 so should be exempted from border restrictions travelling from outside of US. I need the PR status for urgent reasons but neither land border nor IRCC office is available for landing right now. Do...

PR Inland Landing appointments/interviews affected by Covid

landing appointment means the appointment at inland IRCC office. Airport landing should still be working if you are exempted from the restrictions of entering Canada.

I am in Vancouver, having approved COPR dated Mar 12. Received it in April. No appointment made. No update since then.

I am in Vancouver and I contacted this email before. Unfortunately, this is NOT the email for general landing enquiries. This is their response:

office opening time for COPR processing at 24/7 US-Canada land border

Really doubt if you can travel from US to Canada for landing. According to the page: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html You can travel to and may be permitted to enter Canada if you’re a Canadian citizen...

    Confirmation of PR

Thanks! IRCC officers are really not easy to reach, even in normal times. I am also in Canada in CoPR in hand and I tried web form multiple times and also emailed to CPC-Ottawa but all get the same general response. I don't have a Canada phone number so I cannot call them directly. Hopefully it...

    Confirmation of PR

For most people, there's no way but to wait at the moment... I assume the approval date on your CoPR is after Mar 18 so you are not exempted from travel restrictions. You can send web form to IRCC for better guidance. If you are inside Canada, ask for a phone interview and see what can happen.
