Hi folks, BLS checklist says a photo has to be pasted on the OCI application but the downloaded copy of online application already has the photo and doesn't seem to have a section to paste physical photo? Am i missing something? Did something change recently?

Depends on the purpose of the trip i guess. If just visiting, e-visa should be good enough and you could deal with OCI once you are back in Canada.

If you haven't submitted original Canadian passport, you could use e-visa and it should be fine.

For walk-in, do you still have to submit originals of Canadian passport and citizenship certificate?

It got a lot simpler since e-visa is back on for Canadians. Once you get Canadian passport, it shouldn't be a concern going forward for any immediate travel.

You would need a Travel document to get back to Canada, in your case it would be a passport, try to get in touch with a Canadian consulate in India and get a passport via them. Once that is done, you might have to do some formalities in emigration check in India.

How much time did it take to get surrender certificate once it reached Consulate? Also, what is the formality to pick it up from BLS Bramption? I had opted for delivery but wouldn't mind picking it up.

BLS site had the tracking number, just ran it on Purolator tracking site for updates.

Not sure, never saw Transit to BLS from Consulate in BLS, wasn't checking BLS until status in indiavisaonline changed to processed and printed.
