Daily commute (Detroit-Windsor) (H1b and Canada PR)

    1. It was already taking 5-6 months in Feb2020, now it will definitely take longer. Not sure why you are still doubtful in applying for premium. Till 1 year ago, it was taking 8+ months and uscis was minting money with premium. So after covid when people are not working much and no idea if they...

Import car at a later stage after moving?

    1. Yes if its only for short visits(before your permanent move). 2. Yes but you should not be using the car temporarily after your permanent move without importing it. They just want to avoid people taking car and using it for long period without importing. 3. Yes if above condition is met.

Daily commute (Detroit-Windsor) (H1b and Canada PR)

They check randomly every few weeks/months like that, doesnt matter if its car or truck. I have car only and my car had been checked by them. Suitcase: just explain your actual stay and plan on how long you stay at either side. it should be fine. but what they would look for from you is that...

Guide to importing car from Detroit to Windsor

Most cover Canada for visiting and short days. They dont cover for long period after moving. So of course you do have short period(even though there is no specific period till you change you plate technically). So you do get enough time. No one knows what your policy covers and what progressive...

COPR soft landing and return to the US in COVID-19 environment

Airport is inside Canada. So the rule is not about how long you entered Canada or if you dont step out of airport. Its about entered Canada. Still i have seen few posts on people going back next day itself and cbp is not demanding on it. So check more with cbp and plan.

COPR soft landing and return to the US in COVID-19 environment

oh i see. i forgot about the quarantine period of 2 weeks. From the other threads recently, it looks like few commute with H1 daily and some even did single trips to Canada and cbp allow them without any mandate of quarantine period. But its going to be tricky if Canada does not end quarantine...

COPR soft landing and return to the US in COVID-19 environment

I think it will be only for new H1 as few hundred thousands are working and companies will raise voice due to disruption in work. Why do you think you are affected? DO you think it will be of any H1 guys seeking entry? Why do you want to wait for new rule when the coast is clear now?

Work from home from Canada - H1B (till August 2022) and Canada PR (COPR valid till Sept 2020)

    1. Anytime you enter US is nothing but seeking new entry to the united states. So officers can very much give you new I94, just like how they gave you when you landed from the plane last time. This can happen during your reentry from your Canadian visit itself, not necessarily new I94 is given...

Lot of us here are in PR in windsor and go to work to Detroit/Michigan. We dont have shadow/shady payroll. What are you trying to achieve? Dont plan based on some great innovative "tax attorney". They just need your money and services for years to come. Of course you need tax consultants help...

Question about CIT 0002 question 13

Its about the child stayed outside Canada. So it doesnt matter what status outside of Canada and i told to give the actual reason on why child stayed with the actual reason that included status. Its not about which status to be reported, we need to include all the stays outside. Looks like you...

Work from home from Canada - H1B (till August 2022) and Canada PR (COPR valid till Sept 2020)

    1. H1 status expires after 30 days. It will be technically new entry but mostly the officers will activate the last I94 but some officers will ask you to get new I94. 2. There is no limit. If you travel less frequently, like once in few months and seek just 1 or 2 days entry then few officers...

Work from home from Canada - H1B (till August 2022) and Canada PR (COPR valid till Sept 2020)

I have not experienced on bringing the car thats on a loan. Please check with the rules ahead. At the border cbp stamps the title but not sure about the process without the title. But bringing car needs the processes to be completed ahead of hitting the border which needs to be started few...

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Its not possible quickly as it takes 1 to few years before even getting chance for PR. Given the problems (no family/education/experience in Canada) for most US H1 guys, its hardly any chance and every year the points go up due to more H1s coming and competing hence increasing the score...

Travel from USA and 14 day Isolation

If you are a PR then not sure why are you even asking this question. Residency obligation is nothing to do with the validation of the pr card. It depends on the officer as some gets allowed even without meeting residency obligation or else he will be given 30 days and get reported to meet the...
