CEC September 2019 applicants join here for updates

No, you cannot apply for a BOWP for Quebec: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html You can however apply for a Employer specific (closed) work permit.

It is not necessary that you will get a ghost update before you receive your PPR email. And the bar only indicates the time elapsed and time remaining, nothing else.

You can only do that after your COPR gets confirmed. But your BOWP has been already processed, it is better to call CIC and inquire regarding the BOWP fees refund.

Oddly enough it seems CIC seems to actively issuing PPRs between 3rd and 5th day of every month (at least for Nov and Dec) and seems to snooze for rest of the days of the whole month when it comes to processing CEC PR applications.

I also got a ghost update last week. AOR: Sept 6th, MEP: Sept 30th. I called CIC, I was informed that I passed my Background check, and it is in queue for the officer to do eligibility checks for my application. Also that my file is now with CPC Edmonton.

    Loosing job after AOR

Yes, you may have to leave the country, if your work permit depends on the job offer, but I assume you can stay in Canada because of the implied status. However, I am not the best person to comment on this, it is better to call CIC and enquire regarding your specific case. Even you are to leave...

    Loosing job after AOR

I submitted my job offer letter and the job description. I submitted the documents using their online web form. It takes about a week for them to receive the documents. No, I have not received my PPR so far, hoping that I get that in the coming few weeks, at least before Christmas.

You will generally know through ghost updates, the background status switches between "In progress" and "Not Applicable" a couple of times before you get your PR. I would advise you against ordering GCMS notes unless your application gets delayed beyond 6 months or has been rejected.

It's the same in my case. The timeline in your application does not indicate at what stage of processing the application is at, it more or less indicates the time elapsed (and the time remaining) since the day you got your AOR.

Responded to "do not reply" email

You won't receive a reply to your reply to the do not reply email, most likely it won't even be delivered to the sender. Use the following webform to contact IRCC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

Nothing, they have not started up with your application yet most probably. You will probably get a ghost update on passing your medicals, and then your BG status will either be: 1) Next step is to conduct a background check; or 2) We currently processing your background check. Once you have...
