PR is received before our newborn`s birth. Sponsorship & other ways of taking baby to Canada with us

Wanted to add that you may be tempted to think that adding the newborn will slow things down and delay the process, and it will, but not nearly as much as not declaring the baby will. If you don't declare the baby expect that baby will not be able to live in Canada.

PR is received before our newborn`s birth. Sponsorship & other ways of taking baby to Canada with us

If you haven't actually landed then I think you HAVE to declare the newborn before landing or you won't be able to sponsor the baby. You need to inform IRCC immediately about the baby

    Moving to Canada

There's nothing you can really do until you get AOR and have application numbers. Even if you ca IRCC and get through by some miracle, until you have an application number there's really nothing they can tell you. I know it's hard to wait but you submitted a month ago, so just try to be patient

Opening a joint bank acc before marriage?

Shared finances are definitely a good thing in the eyes of IRCC. Not completely sure how it'll work with opening the account, but I think it should be straight forward. I (US) opened an account with my husband (Canadian citizen) when I was here as a visitor and it wasn't an issue. I don't recall...

Do you live in Canada now?

Do not submit until you're back in Canada. The month you think you'll save by submitting now instead of July will very likely result in a refusal that will add incredible amounts of time on.

    Small wedding, different cultures

A couple ideas of little things that should be pretty easy to provide and might help boost your "relationship is genuine" documentation. 1. If you have social media and posted wedding pictures, screenshot those posts and people's comments to help show the relationship is publicly acknowledged...

What Should Spouse Say at Airport Customs

Unless she has a visa (work, study etc) that gives her the right to live in Canada she should NOT say she lives with you because she isn't allowed to live in Canada. She should absolutely say she is visiting you if she's been in Canada as a visitor. However, you said she's been with you since...

Visitor or Immigrate on Landing Declaration

Since you're entering as a visitor I'd think you'd pick visitor. If you say immigrate but don't have an immigrant visa or copr I'd think that would cause problems

Wife's Bank Statements List Previous US Address - Problem?

I personally think if you explain the address is her mom's who is on the account as well it should be fine. Also if your wife is in Canada on some sort of visitor status then the explanation of "she's just visiting me in Canada therefore her bank accounts still have her US address" is very...

How long does it take to update address?

I just found this and it let me do it for my daughter even though the old address wasn't Canadian. https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/introduction.do?app=coa

How long does it take to update address?

Thanks, I'll have my husband call since he's officially the representative. I didn't realize you can change the address on the phone. Seems like address changes should be flagged in the webform system for quick response since it's pretty darn important and potentially time sensitive.

How long does it take to update address?

Anyone recently update their address via webform and if so how long did it take for the address shown as mailing address in ecas to change? We finally have movement on our daughter's citizenship certificate application and I sent in a webform to update the now very out of date address several...

20 month wait for outland spousal sponsorship, need advice!

I think it's not a problem when she enters as visitor, but rather being sure the car gets included on a list of goods to be imported when she gets her copr but before she lands. How that works if she gets her PR while in Canada and if she has a virtual landing done, I don't know. In terms of...

Anyone with an American spouse who applied outland came to Canada to wait out the COPR?

Yes, we did. What @armoured said above about sums it up. Searching for "dual intent" should lead you to where I previously posted in depth about my experience.

Is retroactively adding partner to my rental lease agreement considered misrepresentation?

I wasn't the one who said it was crazy but I do think it's a bad idea for the landlord to retroactively make someone a tenant as it is backdating a legal contract... You took the words right out of my mouth, er fingers. I don't think the big issue for the LANDLORD is IRCC at all.

Is retroactively adding partner to my rental lease agreement considered misrepresentation?

Because leases are legal/semi legal documents and the landlord agreed to alter/falsify the lease.

Living in the US as a Canadian PR

Heads up as an American with family members who've gotten green cards... It's a long process and the US is very strict about entering the US while you're in the application process (i.e. expect that you can't and that trying may negatively impact your green card app). I know this is a Canadian...
