Track your PR card timeline and processing times here

Got an email today from IRCC stating that they are still working on my application. The text is as follows: You may not have heard from us in a little while. This is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date. We send messages to your...

It is not at all about society, but personal preferences. If one is so desperate to immigrate then maybe yes it makes sense for him/her to take any job to support oneself. Reskilling, switching sectors etc will only work when the economy revives. It makes absolutely no sense to move bag and...

Track your PR card timeline and processing times here

I completed my soft landing in March and now I am in touch with friends who are working in Canada. Most of them are in banking/finance. Going back to Canada, at least in the short term (2020) doesn't seem very attractive. Getting a "front line" job is not the reason I went through the PR process...

I don't think merely having a SIN issued makes you liable to pay taxes in Canada. However, getting a provincial health insurance card is another matter. If getting a SIN is not too much of a hassle then I would suggest that you get hold of it before departing Canada.

Hi, Yes I got a SIN number at the airport. Haven't opened a bank account yet. Apart from these formalities, I met people in my network to find out more about the job market.

I am back home in Delhi after completing my soft landing. With the Canadian economy hitting a rough patch, I am not in any rush to return. Still weighing my options. Let's see how the post pandemic world shapes up (assuming that a vaccine comes out soon!).

With the Canadian real estate market teetering on the brink of a collapse, unemployment will shoot up. Foreclosure have already started. Subdued crude oil prices have given the second body blow to the Canadian economy. Oil and gas is a big employer in Canada and contributes approx. 7% to the...

Let's hope IRCC is able to clear the backlog soon. If the lockdown situation persists, we might be staring at processing times extending upto 6 months!

My guesstimate is that, March arrivals will start getting the PR cards only in June or July. The lockdown is still in place and might even be extended to the end of May.

It's been 6 weeks since my soft landing and there has been no update. I understand that these are exceptional times and hence the processing will surely be delayed. In any case, with limited international flights traveling to Canada even if I were to get the PR card is not an option.

I don't think all the processes and system have been put on hold. However, I do expect a delay in the processing of new applications and issuance of new PR cards.

    Cancel visa COPR before landing

Thank you very much for sharing this info. When will CIC request for the divorce papers? Also, in the CoPR second copy that is stapled to my passport, the name of the dependent spouse is mentioned. Will CIC issue a new CoPR? Thanks!

Has your online application status changed? I am still seeing "application under process" / "Background check under process" online. The application status is still "Submitted". Thanks!
