    Where to get medicals done?

Does anyone know if we can do the medicals in Canada? I’m in the US but very close to the border and wondering if we could do it in Montreal or something. Or are we required to do it in our own country? That will likely be much farther away.

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Good news! When did they request your medicals? I see when they were passed. But it looks like the same day as your AOR….?? We applied in November 2020 so we’re about 6 months behind you and hopefully we’ll get an AOR+ in August/September. Waiting for what feels like forever!

    Self - Employed

Did you get an AOR? Or have you not heard anything at all??? You should post this in the 2019 forum and check for others there who have applied in April 2019.

    Self employed Canadian visa

Actually, the processing time has gone down to 41 months from 42 months (about 1 month ago). But has not moved since. We have been waiting about 17 months.

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Did you get an official AOR or temporary in September 2021? If that was a permanent AOR, did you get a temporary one before that? Good to see at least your application is in process! That gives hope to the rest of us who applied later in 2020.

    Self-Employed Application 2020

These self employed Year forums (fora?) have been very quiet…..not a good sign. Unless people are too busy moving along in their application processes to post…..sigh. I was also hoping the processing time would go down again since we all got excited that it went from 42 months to 41

    Self Employed Application 2022

You can wait like the rest of us! :D Some have waited months...even years for an AOR currently. Have you gotten a temporary AOR? We applied in November of 2020 and got a temporary AOR in January of 2021.....nothing since then. Most of us are waiting waiting waiting. Good luck!

    Self-Employed Application 2020

No response in 15 months here! They are VERY much backlogged unfortunately. We were about to give up and apply to another country but saw that the processing time went down for the first time, from 42 months to 41 months

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Score is 382. Just checked again. We have excellent IELTS results, only I have a masters degree (not my spouse), and we are both over 45. So self employed is the likeliest way to get in for us. And even there, we may be too old by the time they get to our application,LOL.

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Maybe it was 370. Can’t remember now. Whatever it was, it was well below what every said I’d need as a minimum. You don’t need a job offer but it gives you more points.

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Same. We only get to about 470 or so points because we have zero experience or education IN Canada. And, of course, no job offer….so that’s more points lost. Also, we didn’t get our degrees “qualified” so we’d have to pay for those and also wait to get them. EE is also not currently drawing from...

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Still waiting for a permanent number.I’ve only seen 1 or 2 ppl on this forum get their permanent number. Would love to see who has gotten a permanent number (and/or anything else following that) who applied in 2020. We are considering applying elsewhere as it sounds like it could still be...

    Self-Employed Application 2020

Here’s the latest in processing times. Seems self-employed is pretty low on the totem pole https://www.cicnews.com/2022/03/ircc-updates-processing-times-tool-to-provide-more-accurate-information-0324031.html#gs.vy6a84

    Self-Employed Application 2020

I don’t know. I’m not convinced it is only for new applicants, which is what I originally assumed. When we first applied, it was 20 months. It has now been 17 months and we have not heard a thing (except for a temporary number last January). Pretty sure they won’t make the 20 month mark in ours!

Can I also apply with EE?

Ok. We would need to get ECA’s. Not sure if it’s worth it….the ECA is only required for the highest degree earned, correct?

Can I also apply with EE?

I did not need ECA’s for this stream (degrees from the US) but I assume I would need them for EE? Is the ECA for the initial profile or just for the actual application? I have IELTS results already.

Can I also apply with EE?

I am eligible to apply. However, my CRS number is fairly low (due to age and no work experience IN Canada). Could it hurt to create a profile?? Worst that happens is that nothing happens (no ITA), right? Just looking for other options out there for permanent residency :)

Can I also apply with EE?

My husband and I applied through the self-employed stream in November of 2020. Looks like we’ll be waiting a long time still. Are we allowed to also create an EE profile? Would that profile work for both of us or do we need to pick one of us? If that’s the case, can that person add a spouse onto...

    Order of tasks for application

I'm just wondering what the order is after you receive your permanent AOR? Would they ask for medicals if they haven't yet reviewed your application? My question is, if they ask for your medicals, does that mean your application looks good and unless you don't pass the medicals/biometrics...
