    MAY 2021 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

@Fieldy @Sharingan Hi both - I am not a UK citizen, and not visa exempt, so my process was different, I am afraid. Congratulations on getting your PPRs, and I hope it goes quickly and smoothly!

I am the PA, and I am in the UK. The Sponsor is a PR, so he is in Canada.

PA is residing in the UK (not a UK national though). I was away at the time when I received the passport request, so had to send it in from abroad. Very relieved it all worked out.

    Support letter from parents

I think a letter from the parents or relatives can't hurt. I attached screenshots of my texts with my sisters-in-law with our application, but, in hindsight, we probably should have attached something from the parents as well. I don't think your situation would necessarily be a red flag if you...

Have you considered sending a webform saying something along the lines of "this is to notify you of the change of employment of Mrs razor787. Employment A terminated on <date>, employment B commenced on <date>". This way you would have notified them, and it would be up to them to ask for further...

I think so. Here it says "anywhere in the world, even in a different country" https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/questions-answers-by-topic.asp?st=4.6 I think I remember seeing people on this forum doing their medical outside of their country of residence, maybe try searching the forum...

London Visa Office 2020/2021 (Outland Applicants)

Have you considered popping into London or Manchester? There are several clinics that do the medical in London, you could be there and back in a day. Manchester has at least a couple, too. Just a thought. It's an additional expense, of course..:(

    What indicates Passport Received?

I am at London VO, and my package also got delivered today. I spoke to them on the phone right after I got the delivery confirmation from DHL, and was told that the documents are processed for up to 48 hours after receipt, and if I didn't get an email within 48 hours from delivery - I should...

For what it's worth, mine said "additional document uploaded, we are reviewing" for 3 months up until last week when we got the PPR. They never acknowledged completion of the review of the additional document submitted, just the fact that the additional document we sent was received. If you are...

Not elfie, but I submitted the additionally requested police certificate via a webform, because at that point my GCKey account was not linked to my application. If yours is, then there is a way to do it via GCKey. I don't believe there is a preferred way, or a faster way - they should both be...

    Spousal sponsorship

You probably want to pay at the time when you are filing the application, in order to avoid having to wait for the payment request at a later stage. But if you don't mind waiting a bit, then it doesn't matter, you could do either. In our case Sponsor paid at the start, when we were filing the...

    Work related travel outside Canada

I think you'll probably need to hear from more senior members as I don't know the specifics of the PGP, but I have been in this situation in the past in terms of being a foreign national residing abroad and traveling a lot for work. As long as you maintain a legal address, pay your taxes (which...
