    Children at Oath Ceremony

Thank you so much for your feedback and advice. We'll either not take him or try to find someone to come with us to sit with him in the guest section.

    Children at Oath Ceremony

Can we take a child who is not going to be taking the oath (already Canadian by birth here) to the oath ceremony and have him sit with us not in the guests section? He's only 4 so can't sit alone. Thanks!

    photocopies of passport biographical page

Yes, it was the interview at the test day. They will send you a notice to appear to take the citizenship test and it will list the documents you have to take with you. One of these documents is ALL passports that you submitted with your application and translated stamps (original translation...

    AOR and Discover Canada

I never got a copy of Discover Canada in the mail (even though it said they sent it in eCAS). You can either print it from the link provided above, or physically go to a CIC office (if one is close to you) and pick one up for free. Good luck!

    photocopies of passport biographical page

You need to submit ALL passports since you became PR, or for the past 6 years, whichever is longer. The bio pages are the picture page with all the pertinent information (name, DOB, place of birth, etc...). I provided a full photocopy of all our passports since we became PR and a translation of...

Dropping two last letter in surname

You should write your name exactly as it is on your immigration documents (PRC and CoPR). Once you send it, they will send you the AOR with your correct name (they did with me). My middle name was truncated due to space issues and I wrote it EXACTLY as it was written on all my documents. Once...

Is anyone getting oath invites to these ceremonies? If so, how long from DM to oath invite? Ottawa seems to be REALLY slow all of a sudden!

Fingerprint Request After Passing Citizenship Test

They said the exact same thing to us at the interview. 6 - 8 weeks till we get oath letter. When I explained to the call centre that that's the information given to us at the interview, they said that the person interviewing can't decide when the letter will come for oath until everything is...

Fingerprint Request After Passing Citizenship Test

We have been waiting for 6 months since finger print request. We took the test and passed on February 20th. FP requested same day. Have been In Process ever since and every time I call and ask they say it's within the 12-month processing time. Nothing to do but wait.

    Six Months Since Last Correspondence

Exactly. That's what the call center agent said. She said all my security is done and that means prohibition should be done soon too. But we're still waiting. Anyway, nothing we can do other than wait and see.

    Six Months Since Last Correspondence

Every time I called it's the same response. "Everything looks good. We're waiting on Prohibition clearance. It's been less than 12 months." But what's driving me crazy is that none of the prohibitions apply to me or my family, we have no records whatsoever, and I feel like it's taking forever...

    Six Months Since Last Correspondence

Hi all; It's been 6 months since CIC sent me any correspondence for our citizenship application. We took our exam and interview on February 20th and they sent a fingerprint request for my wife on the same day. We've been "In Process" ever since. Since we've passed the 6 months mark, are they...
