Anyone had PPR after medical in the last year?

And if so, how long after? I passed my medical back at the beginning of Feb and it's been 5.5 months now... I know they're operating differently due to covid stuff but has anyone who's application went in before all this madness had their PPR after their medical and if you have, how long...

    Documenting My Process/Progress

Hi, I'm now in a holding pattern waiting to hear from the visa office. I passed me medicals back in Feb so not it's just a case of waiting for someone somewhere to rubber stamp the application or say no. How's your app going?

    Documenting My Process/Progress

I'm just worried that my medical will run out before they get to it and I'll have to spend yet more money I can't really afford to get it again...

    Documenting My Process/Progress

Sorry! Just reporting nothing to report after 3 months. Was hoping that post medical the wheels would spin a bit faster than this... Why would they put me through a medical if I didn't meet the eligibility requirements etc? (beyond the fact that it's likely a cash generator!)

    Documenting My Process/Progress

Update: nothing to update. Passed medical on Feb 1st and now it's gone radio silence from CIC... I'm currently working on the old notion that "no news is good news". I realise that reads like a diary entry found on the body of a mountaineer missing from back in the 30's...

I wasn't aware of that about the UK passport holders not needing the PPR. Crossing my fingers

I wasn't for a long time but the last 2.5 years I've turned it all around! :D

    Documenting My Process/Progress

Update time: So, I had my medical back in October 2020. The radiographer saw something she didn't like on my X-rays (slight loss of volume and scarring in my lungs) so, in order to rule out TB, the ordered up a sputum test (3 hefty coughs of lung butter that they send of to be cultured for 8...

    Medical Taken Today (UK)

Had my consultation with the chest specialist. After listening to my breathing, taking a history, with blood oxygen saturation at 100% and the sputum tests coming back negative for TB (as expected) he was happy to sign off on my not having anything wrong that should affect my visa application...

CIC Online Portal for PR Landing Process

Not sure if it's been posted before but the CIC News bulletin I've just received has told me that there's a new Online Portal for Landing as a Permanent Resident. Apparently it was rolled out due to Covid stuff but it's proved it's worth and looks to be an ongoing service. Take a look below...

    Medical Taken Today (UK)

Got the results of the sputum tests back today: all negative. I was expecting that to be the case as I've never had TB, never coughed up blood even during a couple of very spicy chest infections and a case of the flu back in the day. Next up is a meeting with a chest specialist on Tuesday, if...

    Medical Taken Today (UK)

Still waiting on the results of the sputum tests, should get those in the next couple of weeks; not expecting anything to show up on the results. Got another chest x-ray next week and a consult with a chest specialist; if I get the all clear from that guy (immigration apparently want a chest...

    Self Employed Visa Requirements

My personal opinion (and what I did) is to avoid giving them a buttload of un-necessary paperwork to have to wade through and process. They provide a list of the documents and evidence they NEED to process your application so only send them that. If they want more they'll ask. A business plan...

    Medical Taken Today (UK)

Update on Medical: radiologist changed her mind and raised concerns about what she saw so I've just been back in for Sputum sample collection to rule out the tiny, teeny, weeny possibility of TB. I've never been symptomatic for TB (even when I've had chest infections there's not been any...

Any sample cover letters for self-employed?

Not sure you need one of them... Who you are, what you do and any potential benefits to Canada should be in the forms they want you to fill in. If there's any extra paperwork in the application it should be pages supporting things like travel history, work history, accommodation history...

    Medical Taken Today (UK)

Pleasure, thought I'd outline what happened to give anyone else a rough idea of what to expect going in. All very painless, over inside of an hour (Dr did a really good job of finding a vein first time considering my arms are covered in tattoos!). Some paperwork to do (standard) but it's more...

    Medical Taken Today (UK)

I took my medical today at Visa Medicals in London. Chest X-Ray (evidence of an old chest infection from way back, Radiologist didn't seem concerned) Blood drawn (results to come) Urine Tested all good: no blood, sugars and protein (protein is a very good marker for kidney problems) Breath...
