What is the difference of new portal? My family started their application using the old CGkey portal.. is that a problem?

Hi Everyone,

I am planning to invite my parents and sister to Canada on a visitor visa using the new IRCC portal. Has anyone applied/received a visitor visa for a sibling? I and my husband are PR in Canada, and we believe that we have a strong reason to invite my family to Canada. But, I have heard that getting a visitor visa for a sibling is very challenging. Can anyone please guide me?

I was able to get visitor visas for two of my younger siblings (brother and sister), and they’re here in Canada with me as we speak. It is challenging, but not impossible.

Right now it doesn't matter. Things are very random. you can get a decision from both places within a few days of applying is what I see based on the trends here

Hello everyone, i applied for my in laws for the second time in October 2021 (first time in feb 2021 ).
Biometric already done and updated on 1st nov 2021. Till now no update. Even eligibility review dint start.

Also i applied for my mother on 14th dec 2021 through IRCC portal . Her biometric were done on 31st dec 2021. Few days back it was showing that “we need your fingerprints…..” however recently it got changed to “we haven’t received your fingerprints..”. Biometric already enrolled in the applicant information section. Donot know what to do. Kindly help.

I am an October applicant as well and there seems to be something terribly wrong. Up until Oct 15th, I saw applications getting approved from the backlog. However there are still people from before and after who are stuck.

You can wait a while and may be reapply on GC Key [ I am considering this option]

As for the biometric, raise a webform and try calling IRCC [ Only options right now] and while I am not sure if it will help [ has not helped me], I understand that there is only so much we can do with these glitches.

Thanks for your reply. Call doesn’t get connected. And in case of web form there is one column called visa proceedings office. Which one to choose from that as i have no idea where file is being processed.

@BA101 I see you are eagerly waiting so here is some info I got after speaking to the contact center. My parent's visa applied on 22nd Nov also has not started and visa office is New Delhi. So I guess people getting results might be from other Visa offices. There are 2 more in Chandigarh and Bangalore. None of it will help it process faster but still might help you wait

Hi everyone I done online application for visitor visa for my in-laws . I applied on dec27,2021 as and done bio metrics on January 12 ,2022. I got passport request on January 21. She paid 2 way courier service at vfs Bangalore at the time of biometrics. So when we go through the web form it’s saying not in service when we put our pin code for passport submission. Any one have any idea or did recently please reply. Thanks

What is funny though is that, whoever calls gets told by IRCC that the file is in Delhi [ including the ones who got the decision], and everyone eventually heard back from Ottawa. So there is no way to clearly ascertain

Hmm but those whoever called might already had delayed timings and you see the timeline above, VFS Bangalore so I am assuming VO Bangalore as well and look at the timeline
